MakeMKV可以將DVD或BD影片直接轉換成MKV檔案。
MKV是一種影音的模式，雖然現在已經不是那麼多人在用了，不過大部份的多媒體播放機還是支援這種格式，最主要是MKV能夠將字幕一併封裝起來，不必再用外掛SRT字幕，使用上還算方便。
